
ESL Program
The English as a Second Language program at Regina Christian School provides instruction in speaking, listening, reading, and writing for non-native speakers of English from beginning to advanced levels. The program is designed to prepare students in the language skills necessary for successful academic work.
The comprehensive and well rounded preparation that students receive brings not only language skills, but also learning skills, social skills, self-awareness and cultural familiarity. We are dedicated to meeting the unique needs of International students.
All International students will attend ESL classes daily consisting of:
- Reading / Comprehension
- Grammar / Writing Skills
- Conversation / Listening Skills
Elementary: Kindergarten - Grade 8
Students will be integrated into mainstream classes, which will include: Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Phonics, Spelling, Physical Education, Art and Bible.
High School
A selection of high school classes including: history, science, physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, creative writing, art and choral.
Students will be involved in interactive classes that promote conversational English practices. These include:
- Physical Education
- Industrial Arts
- Food / Home Economics
- Bible (mandatory)
Students will be integrated into mainstream Language Arts Programs with an accredited L.A. teacher daily consisting of:
- Grammar
- Reading / Novel book studies
- Vocabulary / Comprehension
- Writing Skills
