Band Program
The school band program begins in Grade 6 and follows through to grade 8. It is offered to any student who is interested in being involved. Students participate in the program through the Campbell program .
In Grades 6 through to Grade 8 students receive band twice a week . One session is a small group instruction which is held at RCS. The second session is full band where students are bussed from the area schools (RCS, Perry, Grant Road, Massey, and McVeety) to come together to form an ensemble. Throughout the year students particpate in workshops and clinics, concerts and festivals. In Grades 7 and Grade 8 the band usually goes on a trip during which they perform in another venue. As a student progresses there are jazz ensmebles that they may choose to particpate in as an option. The jazz rehearsals are held outside of school time.
In order to be in band grades 6-8 students need to register by filling out a school board registration form as well as a form for CAMPA (the music parents organization). Students will need to pay a $100 fee to Regina Public School Division as well as $30 to CAMPA. These forms are generally handed out to students in June. Except for school instruments (french horns, tubas, bass clarinets) students will need to supply there own instruments. If a child or family is having difficulty with this then the band teachers can help.
The band teachers are all based out of Campbell and so can be contacted by calling the music office at 751-2807; leaving a message at 791-8380, or e-mailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
