Julie Sims:
My name is Julie Sims. I am from Regina where I live with my husband, Scott, and our 15 month old daughter, Madelynn. I attended RCS from kindergarten to grade 8 ('95).
My belief about children is where my teaching practice stems from. I believe children are strong, capable and competent learners who can build new knowledge and understanding from hands-on learning experiences. A classroom space rich with materials from nature, objects of wonder, and opportunities for children to play, explore and creatively express themselves are what I want to provide. My hope is that this environment will foster love and respect for self, others and God's world. It is a privilege to include the love of God in our classroom - how awesome it is to be able to share about our relationship with Jesus Christ! It also provides the chance for the children to grow in love and respect for one another. I look forward to developing trusting relationships with the preschool children and their families.
Post Secondary Education - Bachelor of Education with a focus in Early Childhood Education from the U of R. Bachelor of Biblical Studies with a focus in Christian Education from Eston Bible College.
Work Experience - Substitute Teacher with the Regina Public School Board and at the Regina Christian School since 2008. Education Assistant at the Regina Christian School for 2 years ('02-'04).
Evelyn Parker:
I have recently moved to the city and am excited about the chance to work at Regina Christian School. The opportunity for children to learn in a Christian setting is extremely valuable to their growth and development. Children need to be provided with settings that will enhance their own internal curiosity and desire to learn. I am looking forward to being a part of your child’s learning experience. I hope to impart wonder of the world and God’s love to my students.
